After a short break (thanks to travel, commitments, and yes—COVID, Seriously! I thought it was GONE!!! :=(( ), I’m excited to restart this series with a new rhythm.
- Beginning of the month: A blog focused on healthcare staffing—the challenges, trends, and insights from our work at Protean Med.
- Mid-month: A more reflective post on personal and professional growth—because life and work are so often intertwined.
This week, I want to talk about something every recruiter experiences—yet not enough of us say out loud:
When Recruiting Drains You, Find Your Life Vest
Let’s be honest: recruiting can be frustrating. You chase leads that vanish. Candidates don’t show up. Clients change their minds. The right fit doesn’t materialize no matter how hard you try.
It’s like building a house in shifting sand.
I’ve had weeks where I question why I do what I do—until I remind myself: this work matters. Behind every placement is a physician making a living, a hospital staying staffed, a patient getting care. That’s my anchor. That’s my life vest.
If you’re in staffing, you know this feeling. You also know the quiet satisfaction of helping someone land where they belong.
To everyone out there in the grind: Find your “why,” hold it close, and keep showing up. The impact you make isn’t always immediate—but it’s always real.
Here’s to a new chapter of Monday Morning Coffee at Protean—biweekly blogs that fuel both mind and mission.
